  • If you prescribe medications for your patient’s accident-related injuries but they cannot afford to pay for the prescriptions, then the Healthmed card can definitely help them. The Healthmed card can be used at any major pharmacy to fill their generic prescriptions without any payment. Until their case is settled, Healthmed covers all of your patient’s accident-related medication costs.

  • To register a patient for the Healthmed program, you submit an enrollment form on their behalf. The patient needs to sign the lien and waiver section, and then your office emails or faxes the form to Healthmed. Someone from Healthmed or your patient’s attorney will then notify them when their enrollment is successfully processed.

  • Your patient will receive a copy of their card via email from their attorney or directly from Healthmed. A physical card will also be mailed to the address that they provided.

  • If your patient’s completed Healthmed program enrollment submission is received during business hours Monday through Friday, their card is activated within 24 hours. Enrollments that are submitted over the weekend may not be active until Monday morning. To verify that their card is active and ready to use, your patient can call Healthmed at Phone: 310-498-1880.

  • If their card is not working, your patient should call Healthmed at Phone: 310-498-1880 to find out what the issue is and get it resolved.

  • Yes, there is a preset limit on the Healthmed card. If your patient surpasses their spending limit but their case is still not settled and they need more medication, they should call Healthmed at Phone: 310-498-1880 who will then contact your patient’s attorney to request an increase.

  • Your patient’s card does have an expiration date. If the expiration date passes but their case is still not settled and your patient needs more medication, they should call Healthmed at Phone: 310-498-1880 who will then contact the patient’s attorney to request an extension.

  • Yes, the Healthmed card is for use on a variety of common generic pain and psych medications. Any prescriptions for medications that are not included in this group will not be approved by the pharmacy if your patient tries to use their Healthmed card to fill them.
